I had a little bit of time on Sunday so I started this portrait. I wanted to make something with softer edges (something I still struggle with). It's not really done. I want to come up with a neat sci-fi angle to it like perhaps a bionic chip or device on the side of her face, or maybe even make her some type of alien. I have a lot of commercial projects to get back to, so I welcome any further ideas until I can pick it back up and finish it.

Done in photoshop. About 6 hours. No tracing or over-painting. This is not a photo manipulation.
Very loose ref on the face was used (and I even glanced at pics of Patric Stewart- lol). Edit: I looked at this- [link] to begin with as I liked the cold stare but as with any ref I use I made it my own and used it only as a starting point. No, the face was not referenced off of Natalie Portman.

It's an amazing piece. She definitely is different from the reference photo. I went to compare a photo with Natalie Portman, who has a smaller forehead, bushier eyebrows, higher bridged nose and unrefined lips. I'd ignore the comments about similarities to her. Can't wait to see the end result of this alien

This is very cool. I really like it. The stare is amazing, to the core. Those cracks on the body give this artwork a harsh feeling which is very nice. Bravo!
