The Refugeesby `lithriel

Traditional Art / Drawings / Macabre & Horror

A very dark piece for my ap art portfolio concentration. I used a picture of a mother clutching her screaming child's ears and can almost hear the horror of the world they live in as she trys to shut the sound out. The thing I liked most about this piece was the detail in the mother's face. Done with prisma colored pencil on green tinted paper, ripped and pasted on ripped cardboard, and dripped with acrylic paint.

FYI: My concentration focuses on emotion shown through the human face.

fine art doesen't necessarily have to be drawn or painted nicley(but you've done that too), It has to speak to you! and this icture really does!

i don't find it creepy, just the sad reality of the world.
I say don't bother with the fine details (nose, teeth) and just go with the flow. Try playing with acrylics?

I'd say you definatly caught it, you can see the whole story just from this, and the way you drew it makes it look all the more creepy, this is amazing.
